"I made this far for a reason. This is just another step. Asazaki Nae won't be burried by these forgotten mountains. My future awaits me. I just need to... push. A few more steps, you can do it!"

:iconmarcotonio-desu:, as always, is amazing and helped me with a ton of stuff~ <3

It was thanks to :iconmichelvictor:'s works that I was inspired to explore unknown waters and learn how to animate like this. Please, check his works, they're extremely inspiring, stunning, done, and really worthy the watch!

Overall I greatly enjoyed this piece, and for several reasons. the strong yet desperate look in her eyes fits excellently with both the title and theme of the piece and further gives character. This is further enhanced by your skill at body language as well. The way she's pressing her shoulder and mantis arm towards the storm shows a strong desperation to make it through the storm, while her smaller hands tending to the lantern show a complimentary sense of struggle and hope. Your skill at animating the weather effects is phenomenal and, as always, the way you paint backgrounds is a nice blend of beautiful and subtle.

There are, however several minor complaints that I have though. Firstly, while the wind effects of her ponytail and longer strands of hair work well, unfortunately the shorter bangs of hair have this awkward "watery" quality to their animation, making them seem out of place in the strong weather and have an overall unnatural feel to them when compared to how well the rest of Nae, clothes, body and all, is animated.

Further I feel that this selection of music feels a tad too out of place as well. Its rhythms and not progressions are far better suited to panicky and more movement heavy scenes, and possibly with a more lightly colored setting. I instead suggest, for scenes similar to this, to go with more atmospheric, or sometimes ominous, type of music. Something with an emotional pull towards challenge and adversity with a small tinge of hope would be far better. Further with stormy setting I find that woodwinds and acoustical instruments far better suit the aesthetic rather than electric sounds.

Overall I greatly enjoyed the piece and despite my complaints, which I feel are rather minor, its a great piece. However please take my advice with a grain of salt. I don't consider myself a professional at art or critique and as such one shouldn't take my advice too seriously considering I have no experience in either art or animation.

This work is an astonishing piece of art. It gives one the feeling of alertness and seriousness. The originality is ok; but I have seen several images that look similar. The snow is a great touch. I've seen too many kung fu movies to let rain have all that much effect on me. So the snow is great.
The character is one of a kind. She completely displays her intention to not back down. This and the combination of the great music and ambiance makes this astonishing piece of art just pop. I hope you agree with me. Keep up the great work ~ ( X )

It's so well done! and it's so beautiful! I just luv seeing those big, creepy, bug eyes look around and blink :aww: they'r precious. Her antennae seem to move on her face like liquid 0_o but most of it is great overall. The only other thing that I'd say about it is that the music seems pretty awkward when compared the great harmony of the rest of the piece.
