I once wondered why Kurohasu wears no armor. Then I realized that he himself is like a suit of armor. His head is practically a kabuto, even. :D

Hahahaha yes! But his carapace is not steel-hard! Samurai still need to wear armor in Great Land. Kuro just doesn't like to wear them, they're not his cup of tea hahaha, he prefers a simple loose kimono that won't limit his moves!

Sounds like a perfectly reasonable preference to have, if staying quick on your feet and making agile strikes is your style. His carapace will probably still split under a katana's blade like most anything else, but it looks tough enough to negate any potential damage by light, blunt objects such as sticks and planks, at least?
