I really love this picture technically: all the colours and the textures... But I don't like what it is about. She seems really broken and abused, like being someone's toy. This is a bit personal for me, probably that is why it took me long to decide to fav or not despite the wonderful display. But the beauty of the image took over my bad feelings about it so I have to fav anyway. XD
Btw, it is shibari, right? Japanese binding technique (I came across this term and the thing when I was looking for Japanese style wrapping, like in gifts. I was a bit shocked when I saw those pictures for the first time. XD; )
Thank you a lot for the comment! It means a lot ^^ I truly love your art so everytime you comment here is a joy! <3 Now beware text wall LOL
Indeed, I drew this with the intention of it being a very thought-provoking/confusing theme. I wanted to see how many people would understand or get close to understand the true meaning, which is realted to her story. Perhaps you don't know her story very well (mainly because I'm not very much active on dA when it comes to posting art hahaha), but one of the main points of the story is that she starts 'seeing things', hallucinations, she thinks, and she starts to worry about her sanity, future and career.
The entire picture here is a metaphor to her mental situation at the moment. I don't like explaining the elements I plan on a pic, but I'm going to paste here a comment I sent to someone on another art site:
"Oh no! This one is definitely not about kinkiness! I like when people take their own interpretation on my pics, and avoid explaining the initial meaning of them, but in this case, I think I need to explain the bondage is just a secondary element! This pic tells a bit more of her descent into madness. Her being tied is a metaphor to the situation she's current in.
"Locked. Entangled. Imprisoned under a thousand layers of clothing, but still naked, violated, vulnerable."
This describes how she is bound in her nightmares, not matter what she does to protect herself or tries to be strong, the things she sees still assault her mind.
"My only barrier is fading. Disappearing. Escaping my own grip, I can't hold it any longer. I am bound. Help me, please."
This describes how it is affecting her own true defense: her mind, her ability to think. As she thinks she's becoming mad, she starts doubting she will be able to survive in the society without her best attribute.
And the last part symbolizes her attempt to get out of this situation.
In the pic itself, she's surrounded by chrysanthemums, those flowers are a symbol of nobilily, but are being entangled by vines, unwanted plants, in the same way she's being afflicted by nightmares. The fog in the background symbolizes how blurry her mind is at the moment, like if she can't find her path within the mist. The background made of different patterns together is meant to symbolize confusion, unreality, and lastly, there's a lighter colored circle behind her head, accentuating that part, the source of her situation!"
Oh I see... Yes I certainly wasn't aware of her situation. This way it really gives a different vibe inded. Thank you for explaining! I'm glad I got to know the meaning of it And it's cool you had such an elaborate symbols to it with the flowers even. I noticed chrysanthemums and was wondering if they were just random or had a special meaning since they are not just "any kind of flower". I see now., ^^

I hope I made things clearer now! XD

o que ela diz é uma descrissão de um sentimento psicologico, ou é mesmo uma situação real que ela esta desse jeito?
